Petit St. Vincent - St Vincent & The Grenadines
At the southern tip of the Grenadines lies the tiny private island of Petit St Vincent. Part of the Small Luxury Hotels of the World and with two miles of stunning private beaches, it’s one of the Caribbean’s best kept secrets. Bursting with character and charm, this luxurious tropical paradise dares you to disconnect from the world and enjoy the simple pleasures of life in the slow lane.
Accessed by air from Barbados to Union Island, followed by a 20 minute boat ride to the resort.
On a private island.
The 22 stylishly decorated cottages are spread out around the island to ensure maximum privacy, either set on the hillside or right on the beach with your own private stretch of sand. One Bedroom Cottages have a separate living area whilst the Two Bedroom Villas boast a large open-air living/dining area and a spacious sundeck with comfortable hammocks overlooking the beach. With a real emphasis on escaping the trappings of modern life, there are no TVs, phones or internet in the rooms. However, you are not completely without creature comforts; all cottages are air conditioned and feature a mini bar, coffee machine, iPod docking station and an intercom system to contact the front desk. Complimentary WiFi is available at reception.
Restaurants And Bars
There are two restaurants; the elegant Main Pavilion Restaurant and Bar set on a small hill overlooking the harbour is open for lunch and dinner. The thatched Beach Restaurant and Bar is the perfect place to enjoy cocktails and casual dining with your feet in the sand, and the weekly beach barbecue, hosted on West End Beach with the mellow vibes of a Caribbean steel band, is not to be missed. If you prefer, you can have early morning coffee, breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner served in the privacy of your room or delivered to one of your favourite hammocks which are dotted around the island. The cuisine is exceptional here, and the gourmet chefs pride themselves on using the freshest locally-caught and grown ingredients wherever possible. There’s also a wine cellar with no less than 6,000 bottles of fine wines and spirits to choose from.
These include a hillside spa with four open-air treatment rooms with private outdoor shower, a yoga pavilion overlooking Conch Bay offering twice-weekly classes, tennis courts, jogging and hiking trails and a Fitness Trail providing an excellent workout along the beaches and woodland. There are non-motorised watersports including sailing, windsurfing, kayaking and snorkelling, and an excellent Jean-Michel Cousteau Dive Centre. Motorised boats for deep sea fishing, diving and touring are also available, as well as golf on nearby Canouan Island.
The hotel will be closed between 01 August – 31 October.Holiday Name : Petit St. Vincent
